Score Select Player Rules

Points

For each game featured in Score Select you'll earn 4 points for correctly predicting the winning team plus an extra 3 points if you pick the right margin (giving you a possible total of 7 points per game for picking the correct team and margin).

There are no points allocated for draws in Score Select as teams play extra time if normal time ends in a draw. The margin you select will be compared to the score at the end of extra time (i.e. the final result of the game).

How to select and change your score

To select your scores each week you need to log onto anznetball.co.nz, and click on the "Make your picks" tab.

Then select your scores for all the games in the upcoming round - select which team you think will win and the margin that they win by. The example here shows a prediction that the Magic will beat the Mystics by a margin between 1 and 4 points.

You must enter your scores by 12 noon on the Friday (NZ time) of each round. You can change your scores as many times as you like during the week up until 12 noon (NZ time) on the Friday. Ensure that your press the "Save my picks" button after you make any changes.

You can only select scores for the upcoming round of games.

Default scores

If you forget to select your scores for a particular round, don't sweat it, you will automatically receive the default scores for that round. The default scores are always a win to the home teams by 5 goals and over. You will only receive this benefit twice in the season, so make sure you're sorted each week. Unfortunately if you do not select your scores for a third time in the season you will not receive any points.

Reminder email

You will receive an email on Tuesday to remind you to make your picks each Wednesday morning we will email you the game points you scored in the weekend and your new total score. Your score will also be recorded on your home page when you log onto the website. This page is updated every Wednesday morning.

Results

Match results will be posted onto www.anz-championship.com after each game and your Score Select game points total will be updated on Tuesday.

You can start playing at any time during the season.

If you don't get around to registering in time for the first rounds, we don't want to penalise you. If you register at any time up to 9.00am on Thursday the 5th May you will be starting on the number of points that players would have earned if they picked the default points (home team wins by 5 goals and over) after the first 5 rounds. If you register after the 2nd May, you won't start with any points.

Friends function

If you want to see how well you are doing against your friends simply create a friends list.

All you have to do is use the search function and search for your friends by first name, last name, player name or email address.

Once you've found your friend, you'll need to click the “Add to friends” button. This sends your friend a request, and when they accept that request you will be on each other's friends list. You can view your friend's selections for current and previous weeks by clicking on their name on your friends' page. They cannot see your email address, postal address or other contact information. If you delete a friend from your list then you will be deleted off their list.

Tell a friend

The ‘Tell a Friend’ function provides you with an easy method to invite your friends to register and play Score Select. Once they're registered you'll be able to add them to your mates' list.
